So you want to elope in Washington but aren’t sure when? That’s normal. There’s so much to plan and so much to learn about eloping, but I’m here to make it easier for you. I’ll break down each season and tell you the best times to consider.
Spring elopements in Washington (April – May)
Temperatures range from 50 degrees – 67 degrees
Rain is common during this season, typically more rainy in April.
Pros:
- vibrant nature
- blooming flowers (especially cherry blossoms!)
- powerful waterfalls
- abundant wildlife
- more daylight for exploring
Cons:
- unpredictable weather
- a bit chillier weather (bring layers!)
- lots of rain – but i do love a good rain shoot!
- some mountain trails will most likely still have snow
Summer elopements in Washington (June-August)
Temperatures range from 75 degrees- 85 degrees
These are the driest months of the year with little to no rain
Pros:
- Warmer water for jumping in the lake
- Colorful sunsets
- Longer days for those blue hour photos
- Warm weather so you wont need many layers
- National Parks are open with little to no snow
Cons:
- National Parks, especially Mount Rainier, can get super crowded and have extremely long lines. I always reccommend choosing a weekday for your summer elopement!
With barely any cons, Summer is a great time to elope in Washington and is my personal favorite
Fall elopements in Washington (September-October)
Temperatures range from 75 degrees to 50 degrees
Rain starts to pick up a bit during these months
Pros:
- Peak Fall colors which brings beautiful sunsets
- Not too cold, not too warm
- Cozy, moody vibes
- Peaceful foggy mornings
Cons:
- National Parks begin to get snow
- Days become shorter
- Super popular time to book, so book now!
Winter elopements in Washington (November-March)
Temperatures range from 38 degrees to 55 degrees
This is the coldest time, with lots of rain
Pros:
- No crowds
- Snowy, white backdrops
- Intimate vibes
Cons:
- colder temperatures- you will definitely need to layer up
- most of the trails are full of snow
- lots of road closure
Winter is great for a hotel, city elopement!
